3268 - Off Track Hakarimatas

Meet at the start of Hakarimata Rail Trail off Waingaro Rd, 8:00am. We walk along the Rail trail until near where the climb starts up the Hakarimata range where there is an unmarked track that follows an old gas line. The trail heads west to point 219 and then branches north to exit near the top of the Hakarimata steps. We'll head back down the walkway to complete the loop and back to the carpark. The trip is rated easy and will take 3-4 hours including breaks.
