3270 - Taranaki Waterfall Weekend – Rerekapa & Matapeka Waterfalls
This is a weekend exploring two of Taranaki’s waterfalls, with a mix of farm tracks, bush tracks and an overnight stay at Rerekapa hut.
Friday: Travel from Hamilton to Urenui Beach Campground for the night.
Saturday: Walk via farm and bush tracks to Rerekapa Hut. Leave our overnight packs at the hut and continue on to the waterfall before returning to the hut for the night.
Sunday: Walk out from the hut (approx. 1½ hours), then head to Matapeka Falls for a 2–3 hour return walk before travelling back to Hamilton.
