3121 Hapuakohe Walkway (North)

This is a Sunday day trip and will be a full day out in northern Waikato hills.

We will meet at 8am as usual, and travel by van or private vehicles to the top of the Hapuakohe range on the Matahuru / Ohinewai road. There is little parking up here so we will need to be efficient with vehicle(s). Last time we did a key swap arrangement and we could do this again if we do not have numbers or a driver.

The tramp is 16km long and has some big ups and downs of 200 to 300m and last time it took us approximately 8 hours, so it isn't an easy walk in the park. Having said that - it does have some great bush and good views over northern Waikato countryside - most of it looking west rather than east.
