3216 - Homanga Bay to Waihi Beach

From the end of Ngatitangata Road we will walk down to a beach at Homanga Bay for a short stop, then along the top of coastal cliffs to Orokawa Bay where we'll have lunch under the shade of spreading pohutukawa. There are great views out to Mayor Island/Tuhua and White Island along the way. The last part of the walk is over the hill to Waihi Beach, with time for a swim and ice cream before heading back to Hamilton. A fairly easy 8.5 km walk on a good track but with a few steep sections. A must-do summer walk, don't miss out
