This won’t be a “normal” tramping trip, as the main theme of the trip is not the track itself or the views from track. Instead, we are looking for fungi, just off the track.
Being fungi nuts, Jacqui and Kathy will take us to visit a couple of locations near Rotorua or the Mamaku area which are well known for fungi sightings.
Naturally, fungi sighting is very much weather dependent. If we are lucky we may see some really intersting species. Below are some examples of what Kathy saw last season.
We are not going to cover long distance. An estimation is that the walking distance will be around 4-8 km and definitely no more than 10km. So we are likely to need to wrap up real warm as stopping for fungi means you will feel the cold.
If you think this could be a bit of you, jump online and register. A couple of days prior to the trip, we will send another email to confirm further details. .
