3262 - Kauritatahi Hut

Starting at the Tuahu Track off Wairakau Rd we tramp up past the Killarney Lakes and follow an unmarked track up to Motutapere Hut. Joining onto the North South track we head south past the Thompson Track intersection and to the Kauritatahi track and onto the hut. We return the same way or could take the Thompson track back out to the road. The trip is rated as fit and expect a reasonable long day with some technical sections. We’ll take private vehicles.
