3140 Snowcraft II

Weekend 7th - 8th September 2024

Snowcraft II will take place over the weekend 6-8 Sept based at the Waikato ski lodge at Whakapapa.

To Attend this course it is a requirement that you've completed a snowcraft I course. The emphasis of Snow II is to refresh and extend the skills learnt in snow I with an emphasis on route planning and navigation.

On the Saturday we will complete a full traverse of Ruapehu , Whakapapa to Turoa,  with the crux of the trip being a summit of Paretetaitonga.

On Sunday, we take the pinnacle ridge to summit Te Heuheu and Tukino. We will be driving down Friday night to the club hut and departing mid afternoon on Sunday. This trip is self-catered with full access to the club kitchen.

Trip leaders are Mike Peck and Rupert Craggs. Allan Wickens will assist and be our driver for the pick up at Turoa. Any questions contact Mike 021-369256
