3263 - Piraunui Track

Day trip on the Piraunui Track which starts from the Kauaeranga Visitor Centre. Shortly after setting out, we will cross the Kauaeranga River, so expect wet boots. The track is of a gradual gradient through mature native bush on a well-formed trail.

Hike is approximately 4 hours return.

After wet weather, sections can be slippery and muddy, with some boggy areas to navigate. If its been wet leading up or the river levels are high or fast, we will go on a different nearby track along the Kauaeranga Valley road.
