3264 - Te Tatau-Pounamu Wilderness Area
Trip 3264 Te Tatau-Pounamu Wilderness Area Labour Weekend 2026
This trip is mainly off-track in the Te Tatau-Pounamu Wilderness Area in the Tongariro National Park. Not many people venture into this area but, I have read several trip reports and some videos hence, I have several options on a route, which probably will be a loop to make transport logistics easy.
The majority of the Area is exposed to the elements. Once in the Wilderness Area, there are no, facilities and we will be camping.
We most likely will depart Hamilton late-afternoon on the Friday.
