Club Night – Wednesday, 7th August
50 Years in the Waikato Tramping Club
What was tramping like and what was the club like 50 years ago? John Wilson has been active in the club for that length of time and will talk about tramping in the sixties with a few forays into the seventies and eighties. The gear back then was very different and much more tramping was off-track. John will also relate some anecdotes from some of his early trips. All of this will give you an idea of where the club has come from, and why it is such a great club to belong to.
Venue: St Stephens Church Hall (corner of Ohaupo Road and Mahoe Street).
Time: Doors open 7.30 pm. Programme starts 8.00 pm. Cost: $2
